The instruments traded in the forex market are currency pairs. There are three categories of currency pairs known as the Majors, the Minors and the Exotics. The Majors are the pairs which contain the US dollar (USD) and are the most frequently traded and liquid currency pairs in the world. The Minors or Crosses are currency pairs which contain the major non-USD currencies such as the EUR, GBP or JPY. Finally, the Exotics are pairs that include a major currency on one side and the currency of a developing economy on the other.

Commodities

Commodities are a very popular asset class to trade as they are highly liquid and involve lower margins and higher risk management possibilities such as hedging. In addition, trading CFDs on commodities rather than the underlying commodities themselves brings benefits such as low costs and the ability to sell easily in a falling market.

A CFD, as mentioned before, is when a buyer and a seller agree that the seller will pay the buyer the difference in the price of an asset from the time they make the agreement until present day.

At RallyTrade, clients can choose from a range of 15+ different commodity CFDs from all the main commodity groups, including Industrial Metals, Precious Metals, Energy, Agriculture and more!

Indicies

A CFD's for Indices occurs when a buyer agrees with the seller to pay the buyer the difference in the price of an asset, from the time the agreement was made until present day. The name is quite self explanatory itself, as the CFD stands for Contract for Difference.

The reasons behind the popularity of CFDs are many. Firstly, they are easily available and quick to buy or sell, as the transaction does not involve the actual physical shares. This means that even in a falling market, you can sell CFDs easily and make a profit. Secondly, it is far cheaper to buy/sell a CFD rather than the actual stock or index, while the possibility for profit is just as high. Last but not least, trading CFDs are a fast and simple way to access the world’s biggest financial markets.
